Upgrade your 2023-2025 GMC Canyon Crew Cab with a CanCustom Ceramic Windshield Strip tint kit precision-cut film engineered for your exact vehicle configuration. The windshield visor strip is the most practical and universally legal tint upgrade you can make. Positioned across the topmost portion of your front windshield, it cuts through sun glare during the critical low-angle hours of morning and evening commutes exactly where your sun visor falls short. Unlike a full windshield tint, a visor strip is legal in virtually every U.S. state and requires no special exemption. This kit is precision-cut to match your exact windshield curvature, so installation is clean, fast, and professional-looking from day one.
This kit covers the topmost band of the front windshield the visor strip zone. It does not extend into the primary viewing area of the windshield and does not cover any side windows, rear windows, or sunroof. The strip width is calibrated to the standard visor zone for your specific vehicle year and body style.
This kit is designed and cut exclusively for the 2023-2025 GMC Canyon Crew Cab. Every piece in the kit corresponds to a specific glass panel on this exact body style and year range. Do not attempt to use this kit on a different body style or model year glass geometry varies significantly across generations and trim configurations. Confirm your vehicle's year and body style match this listing before ordering.
CanCustom Ceramic film uses nano-ceramic particle technology to deliver performance that no carbon or dyed film can match. CanCustom Ceramic film is built on nano-ceramic particle technology a fundamentally different construction from carbon or dyed films. The ceramic layer contains no metal whatsoever, which means zero interference with GPS navigation, cellular signals, AM/FM radio, keyless entry, or toll transponders. Infrared (IR) rejection reaches up to 96%, actively blocking the heat wavelengths that cause cabin temperature spikes even on lighter shades like 50% and 70% VLT where the film appears nearly clear. UV blocking exceeds 99%, protecting both passengers and interior surfaces from sun damage and fading. The non-metal composition also means the film maintains optical clarity without the mirror-like reflectivity of metallic films, giving a clean, premium appearance in any light condition. Ceramic tint outperforms carbon tint on heat rejection by a significant margin, making it the best choice for vehicles in high-sun climates or for drivers who spend long hours behind the wheel.
On the windshield strip, ceramic technology is especially valuable. Even a light-shade visor strip blocks the intense infrared heat that enters through the upper windshield. Because ceramic film is non-metallic, it will not cause any radio frequency interference with dashcams, heads-up displays, or rain sensors embedded in the glass.
Professional installation is strongly recommended for best results. If installing yourself, follow these steps carefully:
Step 1 Preparation: Park the vehicle indoors or in a shaded area. Avoid installing in direct sunlight or in dusty environments. Gather your tools: spray bottle with application solution (baby shampoo + water, 1:10 ratio), squeegee, lint-free cloth, and a heat gun or hair dryer (optional, for curved glass).
Step 2 Clean the glass: Thoroughly clean each glass panel with a glass cleaner and lint-free cloth. Remove all dirt, grease, adhesive residue, and existing tint. Any contamination under the film will cause bubbles and reduce adhesion.
Step 3 Wet the glass: Generously mist the inside of the glass with application solution. This gives you working time to position the film.
Step 4 Apply the film: Peel the liner from the film and mist the adhesive side lightly. Align the precut piece to the glass each piece is cut for your exact window. Slide the film into position, tucking edges under the window seals where possible.
Step 5 Squeegee: Using firm, overlapping strokes from the center outward, squeegee out all excess solution. Work from top to bottom. Use a hard card on tight corners.
Step 6 Cure time: Allow 37 days for the adhesive to fully cure before rolling windows down. Minor hazing or small bubbles during this period are normal and will disappear as the film dries. Professional installation is recommended for best results.
For windshield strips, 50% or 70% VLT is most commonly chosen dark enough to cut glare but light enough to maintain forward visibility. Many states specifically regulate front windshield tint; a visor strip in the topmost portion is generally exempt, but always verify your state's specific rules before ordering.
All kits are available in five shades: 5% (limo dark maximum privacy and heat rejection), 20% (dark smoke popular for rear windows), 35% (medium most popular overall, legal in most states for front windows), 50% (light smoke subtle appearance with strong IR performance), and 70% (nearly clear maximum visibility with UV and IR protection). Lower VLT percentage = darker tint.
CanCustom stands behind every precut kit we ship. If you receive an incorrect or damaged piece, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will replace it at no charge. Installed film cannot be returned. We do not warranty against improper installation or physical damage after installation.
Window tint laws vary by state and by window location (front side, rear side, rear windshield). Some states prohibit tint on front side windows entirely, while others require a minimum VLT percentage. It is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before purchasing and installing any tint product. CanCustom assumes no liability for illegal installations.

In most U.S. states, a visor strip limited to the topmost portion of the windshield (typically above the AS-1 line or the top few inches) is permitted. However, regulations vary some states specify a maximum strip width in inches, while others tie it to the manufacturer's AS-1 line. Always check your state's specific tint law before purchasing.
